Lahan persawahan yang subur dan didukung oleh kondisi alam yang baik menjadikan tanaman padi tumbuh dengan optimal. Hasil panen padi berperan penting dalam memenuhi kebutuhan pangan keluarga serta menjadi sumber penghasilan masyarakat.
Selain padi, jagung juga menjadi komoditas unggulan desa. Jagung menjadi tanaman unggulan karena mudah dibudidayakan dan memiliki nilai jual yang cukup stabil sehingga menjadi sumber penghasilan masyarakat.
Proses budidaya dimulai dari pengolahan lahan, penanaman benih unggul, hingga perawatan berupa pemupukan, penyiangan, serta pengendalian hama. Masa pertumbuhan jagung berkisar antara 90–100 hari sebelum akhirnya siap dipanen saat tongkol telah tua dan biji mengeras.
Setelah panen, jagung dikupas dan dijemur untuk menurunkan kadar air agar kualitas tetap terjaga. Selanjutnya, jagung dapat melalui proses penggilingan untuk memisahkan biji dari tongkol atau digiling menjadi bahan baku pakan ternak dan kebutuhan lainnya. Hasil panen umumnya dijual kepada pengepul, didistribusikan ke pabrik pakan ternak, atau disimpan sementara menunggu harga pasar yang lebih baik.
Dengan potensi alam yang melimpah, pengalaman masyarakat dalam bercocok tanam, serta semangat kerja keras dan gotong royong, sektor pertanian dan perkebunan di Desa Negeri Ratu Baru terus dikembangkan sebagai upaya meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dan mendorong pembangunan desa yang berkelanjutan.
